AP Tests are rapidly approaching… what now?

Natasha Malonza, Editor in Chief

April showers bring May flowers, but May also means AP testing season. This means stressing and panicking and pulling all-nighters all in an effort to prepare for a seemingly impossible test. The thing is, it’s not as bad as you think it will be and there are a couple of ways to make the whole ordeal easier!

  1. Know when you AP tests are, that way you can allocate adequate time to study for them.
  2. Get organized. Know what materials you need to have to study sothat you can actually sit down and study.
  3. The AP Barron‘s book for a given subject is not always the best study guide for a given test.
    • For example, the AMCSO is the better option for the AP US History test and the Kaplan AP Biology book is the better option for AP Biology.
  4. Your teacher will help you… IF YOU ASK THEM.
    • You can’t expect additional materials or to have certain questions answered if you do not ask.
  5. Pulling an all-nighter can only help you to a certain point.
    • You are not going to remember what you studied at 3a.m in a haze of sleep deprivation (Trust me, you won’t)
  6. Caffeine and sugar are great… until you crash mid-test and you can’t focus.
    • Keep the caffeine to a minimum before the test, the adrenaline will carry you through most of it.
  7. YOU CAN DO IT! You have spent 8 months preparing for this test!
