Pioneers Beat Dayton

The New Providence Pioneers started their season strong with a 30-14 win over Jonathan Dayton.  The Pioneers rallied for over 400 yards of offense. Sophomore running back Charlie Barth, rushed for 3 touchdowns and 168 yards on 25 attempts. Owen Kovacs, Senior quarterback, threw for 75 yards on 13 attempts, one of those finding Aidan Donnelly for an 11 yard touchdown. Kovacs didn’t only have success through the air. Kovacs rushed for a whopping 115 yards on 20 attempts. Defensively the Pioneers shined, Sean Michaels returning an interception 60 yards for a touchdown, Marcello Boccellari also adding an interception. The Pioneers face Roselle Park on September 20th at home as they look to improve their record to 2-0.
