The New Jersey Devils: Season Recap So Far

The New Jersey Devils have so far had a rocky season with ups and downs. Recent games show a trend where players like Jack Hueges and Wayne Simmonds are showing promise but not being able to completely work together as a team and in the end are not able to take the win.

The November 6th game against the Capitals was a perfect example of the Devils losing  a possible winning streak because of multiple reasons, including but not limited to lack of teamwork and making  necessary changes to become a contender for the playoffs by the coaches.

The team so far hasn’t looked very well coached with many different blowouts and different failed attempts to get back to greatness that was shown in 2011. The Devils clearly have still been working out the kinks in their management and coaching team.

The Devils just don’t seem to have been making any improvement in the long run. “I know we’re better than this,” General Manager Ray Shero said. “There’s a long way to go and it’s a long season but unless you address this, it could be a long season, and that’s not what we signed up for, and that’s not what our fans deserve and certainly that’s not what these players have been about.” While this hopefully isn’t the case, it does seem to become closer and closer to the truth.
