Holidays are seen as a brief escape from school. In any school setting, mental health, motivation, relationships, and celebrations can be strengthened by holiday breaks. They allow students to feel refreshed and allow them to do better when they come back to school. 

The NPHS holiday calendar allows for a number of days off, and is entirely managed at the District administrative level.

“The Board of Education sets the school calendar for each year including days off,” said NPHS Principal Mr. Henry.

Feedback plays a significant role in deciding how and which days students should be off from school. The working calendar helps the community with scheduling for holidays and celebrations.

Henry also said, “Recently surveys were sent out to all of the staff and the community in regards to feedback on the school calendar.”

The Board of Education listens to parent feedback and uses it to create a functional school calendar that students can easily follow.
