With the new school year, NPHS has new class presidents. They’re all excited for what the year is to bring and the new activities that they and the staff were able to make possible this year.
AJ Boyle, our senior class president, is ready to spend his time focusing on the class of 2024’s best interest so they can make the most of the rest of the time they have here at New Providence.
He said: “The main goal is to make sure that going into prom and graduation we have as much money as possible. But beyond that, I really want to be more aligned with our class’s interests so we have the best year possible.”
In the last three years he has raised up to $2,000 by being treasurer in freshman and sophomore year and vice president in junior year. With his experience he can steer New Providence High School in the right direction and he is ready to give it his all this year.
“It’s great to simply be able to collaborate with the other officers. Admittedly, sometimes you need to go in for some early mornings, but I find that everyone else is always engaged and it’s a nice community,” he said.
Boyle works hard to connect all the teachers, staff, students, and even parents to create unity. It is most important to bring everyone together so that New Providence can now be able to participate in new things such as pep rallies and more.
Our 2025 class president has high hopes for this school year as well.
Michael Henry said: “I am ready to take on leadership responsibilities and be a passionate supporter of the class of juniors.”
There are plenty of different aspects that go into the planning of events, fundraisers and more and Henry is ready to cooperate with the student body to bring the most fun and exciting time possible. His goal is to establish and institute money making policies for a better year, but his main goal is to help his class succeed.
Maksim Savin, the sophomore class president, is also ready to follow through on his duties this year.
He said his goal for this year is: “Fundraise at least $1000 and help organize fun events this year such as semi-formal or class clashes.”
Savin even hopes to emphasize the student government, and show people how important it is. He has already begun to make great decisions that will benefit his class and the school too.
Nick Graziano is taking a very proactive approach this year as freshman class president.
He said: “I hope to make several positive changes, including enhancing communications between students and teachers, organizing more engaging and inclusive school events and advocating for improvements on our campus in our facilities such as our bathrooms.”
As he hopes to make physical changes in our school, but his main goal is to give students a say so they can work together to create an environment where they thrive academically and socially.
Graziano shares how being on the debate team helped him enhance his public speaking and critical thinking skills which will benefit him as president. He also explained his biggest inspiration to fill this role was from his brother Vince Graziano who was class president his freshman year. He believes that the class of 2027 needs a strong leader and he will be that example to follow.
