The Governor Livingston and New Providence hockey team is still basking in the glory of beating Morris Knolls in the fourth overtime of the New Jersey State Championship last season.
Unfortunately, the team suffered a big loss with several key players graduating and movin on to college.
That doesn’t mean they cannot aim for a third straight state championship title.
Former head coach Michael Criscitello said “I believe that the team has the ability to succeed and make it all the way back to Prudential.”
Assistant coach Travis Dilello, on the other hand, is taking a more cautious approach: “I think we have to see how we fill the shoes of certain important players”.
One bright note is that the return of Brady Silverman, who will be playing his first full year on the team after being at a boarding school.
Dilello said “he should be leading the team and goals this year.”
Teddy Baum is also expected to rack up multiple points this upcoming season.
Dilello’s goals for the season include making it back to the state championship. Another is to win a Union County title for the first time.
