Winter is now creeping up on us. Before you know it it’s dark after school. The football season is officially over.
It was a tough season for the Pioneers, who fell a little bit below expectations this year, ending with a 4 – 7 record.
Coach Parlavechhio said: “The most impressive thing that stood out to me was the players’ resilience. This season was not a failure because we had a home playoff game and we had some good wins against good teams like Delaware Valley.”
Junior student Jameson Moore agreed that: “The Delaware Valley game was the best game of my career so far. That was one of the many other positives throughout the season.”
Coach Manns said the resilience extended to the freshman and JV teams as well, both of whom finished above .500, good news as 9 out of 11 varsity starters will be graduating.
“I was impressed with how this team bonded together and how they worked hard and also had fun this season,” said Manns.
Both coaches agreed that some necessary work in the offseason is now the focus. The weight room will be utilized to the fullest.
Parlavecchio said “We need to get bigger, faster, and stronger all over the course of the winter through the summer.”
