Whether 2016 was a great year for you, or an awful one, everyone seems to be ecstatic about 2017!  People have been in high spirits the past few days, minus the slight discontents about New Providence having school this Monday. Resolutions and new opportunity have created an excited atmosphere here, and across America, in order to make 2017 a great year!

After ending 2016 with a break and now finally returning to our real lives, we are all eager to make changes that will better ourselves. Resolutions are goals that change the way you live, but also should reasonable for you to be able to keep to! According to Forbes Magazine, only 8% of people kept their resolutions last year. This is because people set goals that are unrealistic, but there are several ways to keep your resolution if you are really passionate about it.

First off, it is important to be patient. Many people want to see rapid results as soon as they start their resolution, but it takes time.

Then, you should also set small goals for your resolution, to make progress easier and more attainable.

Being open about your goals for the New Year can help you get support too. If your family and friends know what you would like to accomplish, they can help you get to where you want to be.

Making time for your resolution is important too.

Finally, if you falter and fall away from your New Year’s goals, don’t give up. It is important to get back up and start again!

The New Year will be what you make of it! If you don’t have a resolution yet, I’ll give you an easy one: Make 2017 a year that you are happier.  Seize every day and make it a year to remember.

As long as you do try to make the most of every day, you’ll stick to your resolution.

Keep those bright smiles of excitement! Happy New Year!
