Back To School Backpack Essentials

Elizabeth Blank, staff writer

It’s that time of year again, the beginning of a new school year!  It is important to have an organized backpack with everything you need to start the year.  There might be things you haven’t thought of to bring to school and some obvious ones.  School days are long so you need to be prepared for anything.

  • Earbuds
    • Whether it is for sports study or free periods, it helps to keep you motivated.
  • Mints/gum
    • DO NOT chew gum in class but before big tests it helps to trigger your memory and keep you concentrated.
  • Hand Sanitizer
    • You need it for those sticky situations.
  • Reusable Water Bottle
    • Reuseable is great for the environment. And it is super important to stay hydrated.
  • Portable Charger
    • Bigger the better since iPads need a lot of energy.
  • Chapstick
    • It is important in the winter especially.
  • Tissues
    • You never know when a cold or allergies will come your way.
  • Bandages
    • You never know when you or your friends get a cut or your shoes give you blisters.
  • Agenda
    • It will keep your life organized.

When organizing your backpack, put things in logical places. For example, something small should go in the front pocket where it wouldn’t get lost. To keep your backpack even more organized, get pencil cases and use them to store all your emergency items or random small stuff. It will also help because you will know where everything is.

Now that your backpack has all the essentials for the school year, the only thing left is to get out there and learn.  Have a great school year and good luck!
