How To Make A Smoothie

A vitamin packed smoothie is a great way to start your school day. Smoothies are easy to make and are delicious! Here is how you can make one:

Step 1: Take out your blender

A blender is one of the most important parts of the smoothie assembly as it is what puts it all together. A good blender is key for a quality smoothie. Before putting anything in the blender it may be necessary to wash it in order to get rid of all of the germs or residue from the last creation. A simple way to wash the blender without cutting yourself on the sharp blades is to put soap and water inside, put the top on, and turn on the blender. This will help to clean not only the container, but also the hard to reach places like the blades. This step can also be repeated after making the smoothie.

      Step 2: Prepare fruits

After cleaning the blender it is time to put the fruit in it. Many common fruits to put in smoothies are strawberries, bananas, mangos, and pineapples. But it is completely up to you because smoothies are customizable. Sometimes, frozen fruit is easier to use because it comes in bigger quantities and it can be stored longer, but using fresh fruit is still good too. Either way your smoothie will taste the same. After choosing your fruits, place them in the blender.

      Step 3: Add extras

While it may be one of the healthiest options, not all people like to have purely fruit in their smoothies. Some additional things to add to smoothies are leafy greens such as spinach, peanut butter, yogurt, and protein powder. These ingredients aren’t necessary but can add to the flavor. Sometimes, ice is added into the mixture in order to make the smoothie have more of a slushy texture. But if you want a smoother smoothie, ice is not needed.

     Step 4: Add liquid

In order to have the fruits blend properly, liquid must be added to the combination. Some great choices are water, if you don’t want to change the flavor, or fruit juices like orange juice or coconut water. Adding fruit juices will help to enhance the tropical flavor in the smoothie.

      Step 5: Blend

Now that you have the fruit and liquid in a blender it is time to blend. The blending process should go smoothly, but if it gets too thick you simply just need to add more liquid. When the smoothie is blended enough for your liking you can stop blending and pour the mixture into a glass and enjoy.

      Step 6: Clean

Now that you drank your smoothie it is time to clean up. This process is easy because all you have to do is repeat step one. Pour soap and water into the blender and turn it on. Then once you blend the concoction dump it out and rinse the inside with water to get the extra soap suds out. After this step you are done and have now learned how to make a great smoothie!
