NPHS Students Attend Winter Semi-Formal

Dancing to music, taking pictures with friends and overall having fun with peers. This is how the first winter semi-formal at NPHS was described.  Held on February 3rd, each grade was allowed to attend and tickets were sold during lunch for $10. Students arrived at the semi-formal in their best attire and a DJ, a photo booth, and light snacks were provided at the dance.

Many students from different grades attended this semi-formal and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Landon Paterson, a senior, stated: “ the best part about the dance was the songs that they played, I knew most of them so I was able to actually participate in singing and dancing. Also, I felt they could’ve added a little more decoration in the gym to create a better effect.”

Alison Leon-Garcia, a senior, says that she enjoyed the dance.

She said she would’ve liked it if it was “promoted more so more people came and bought a ticket.”

Francesca Tallone, a junior, described that at the dance how “there was like a photo booth. That was cute. The Photo Booth was cute. I like that. That was fun. And then they had the DJ. But they should’ve decorated more because it was just  lights.”

Lucy Glenn, a sophomore, said: “I enjoyed the dance.  All my friends went as a group and it was overall a really fun experience and it was nice they hosted a formal dance for us.”

Now that New Providence High School is hosting more events for students to enjoy this year. Hopefully, hosting these events for students continues throughout the years and gets more students involved in the planning and creating of new ideas for more events.
