Right now a lot of stressful things are happening due to Coronavirus. You may have also noticed a lot more people are getting dogs during this pandemic than other years. According to statista.com 63.4 million people in the United States have a dog.

Not only are dogs adorable but they can help you cope with stress. That’s why some dogs are used as therapy dogs. According to adaa.org 74% of pet owners noticed their stress getting better.

Not only are lots of people stressed this year but many people are bored. During this pandemic for our safety lots of things related to entertainment have been shut down, like movie theaters, broadway, some amusement parks and more. Dogs are very entertaining and so much fun. You can walk them, teach them tricks, play with them and so much more. You can easily do all those things without being in risk of getting Covid-19.

These activities are very healthy for you too. According to active.com dog owners’ physical activity increases by 69%. Now is a great time to focus on exercise because with a lot of entertainment things closed exercise can keep us entertained. There is no better way to exercise than exercising with an adorable dog at your side. It’s easy to exercise with a dog too. You don’t need to worry about buying weights if you don’t feel comfortable going to stores yet. All you need is your dog. Walking your dog counts as exercise and it’s really easy.

There are so many reasons why getting a dog this year feels just as essential as wearing a mask. For less stress, fun, fitness and the list goes on. If you’ve thought about getting a dog this year is the year to adopt one.
