Ask Lacey: How To Avoid Copiers

Ask+Lacey%3A+How+To+Avoid+Copiers

Anonymous: People in class always ask me to copy my work, how can I politely tell them no?

Hi writer! This is a tough one, but I know the feeling. I’ve actually been caught sharing my answers with someone before, and it’s a hard hole to dig yourself out of. Instead of saying yes out of nervousness, don’t feel the pressure to deny whoever’s asking! Make up an excuse, even if it isn’t true. Like, “I don’t know what I’m doing, so I doubt any of them are right. Maybe ask somebody else?”

If that doesn’t work and they keep persisting, then just explain that you don’t want to share your answers because you are worried about getting caught. NPHS has a strict plagiarism policy, so it is important to avoid potential punishment entirely.

Hope this helps!
