As Thanksgiving approaches, we asked some NPHS students what they plan to do to celebrate the holiday.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Erika Danysh (12th grade): “I think I will be going to my Aunt’s house in Pennsylvania.”

June Blougouras (11th grade): “My plan for Thanksgiving is to go out to Pennsylvania and spend a few days with all my family at my cousin’s house.”

Samvit Singhal (12th grade): “My plans for Thanksgiving are to go out with my parents to our friend’s place and just have a Thanksgiving brunch.  It’s nice there’s no longer a Thanksgiving football game which the band has to perform at, so I can spend time with family and friends.”

Maggie Liu (9th grade): “During Thanksgiving, me and my sister have a lot of fun cooking dinner together.”

Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving food?

Danysh: “My favorite food is mashed potatoes and CapriSuns.”

Blougouras: “My favorite Thanksgiving food is green beans and roasted carrots.”

Singhal: “My favorite Thanksgiving food is honestly the mashed potatoes.”

Liu: “I don’t really have a favorite food.”

What is your favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal or Thanksgiving as a whole?

Danysh: “My favorite part is getting to ride my uncle’s motorcycle when I get to my aunt’s house.”

Blougouras: “My favorite part of Thanksgiving as a whole is being surrounded by family.  You don’t get to see them much throughout the year except on special occasions, so it’s nice to have a time designated to be together.”

Singhal: “My favorite part is just hanging out with friends, talking to others, and just having a good time.”

Liu: “I just really like spending time with my family.”

What are you most thankful for?

Danysh: “I am most thankful for my friends.  I love them so much.”

Blougouras: “I am most thankful for my friends and family.”

Singhal: “I am most thankful for my parents, for making me who I am today.”

Liu: “I am thankful for having a supportive and loving family, and amazing friends.”
