There’s a good chance that the lockdown won’t be over until this summer and there’s an even bigger chance that COVID-19 is going to have an even worse impact on our society and daily life. New Jersey with almost all of the US states has declared a state of emergency.

The town has been quieter and in some places seems almost abandoned. Parks like Lincoln Field have been completely taped off so no one will go to hang out near them and places like the New Providence Memorial Library have been shut down until further notice

Ever since the town has been on lockdown different stores have been trying to find ways to adapt. Stores like the Prestige Diner have opened up delivery services, even restaurants that never deliver have been using Doordash or Uber eats. In addition to this many restaurants can only be ordered for pickup.

While there are many more people stuck in their homes there are many people who have been using different programs like Skype, Zoom or even Facetime to connect and to hang out with friends.

As more places of work have shut down, and people have been handling it differently, everyone has one goal:  to stay safe. While it may look like the world is stuck in time and nothing is happening, people are doing everything that they can to make life go smoothly.
