2013-LIVE-COE

This fall, the New Providence High School Drama Department will be performing The Mousetrap by renowned mystery novelist Agatha Christie.  The play is set in a small town guesthouse in 1950s England.  As with many of her stories, the play is a thrilling murder mystery.

The NPHS Drama Department is bringing the story back to life with their 2014 fall show.  The show will run Friday November 14th and Saturday November 15th at 7:30.  Mollie Ralston, the young proprietor of Monkswell Manor, will be played by Caroline Schlobohm.  Giles Ralston, Mollie’s husband, will be portrayed by John Ertman.  Acting the part of Christopher Wren, the young, slightly mentally unbalanced guest, will be Florent Amiel.  The bitter old woman, Mrs. Boyle, will be played by Emily Peterson.  Archit Gupta will be portraying the character of Major Metcalf, the seemingly aloof retired army major.  Joanna Messineo will be acting the part of Miss Casewell, the outspoken masculine female guest.  Mr. Parivicini, the incredibly creepy Italian guest, will be played by Marc Mekhanik.  As the final member of the cast, William Roper will be acting the part of Sargeant Trotter, the curious young detective.

Want to find out who committed the crime?  Who is the guilty suspect at Monkswell Manor?  Is it the strange young guest?  Is it one of the proprietors?  If you want to find out come see Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap to uncover the true murderer!  Sophomore, and cast member, Mekhanik is excited for the performance, and boasts: “It’s brilliantly done.”  This year’s Stage Manager, Senior Alisha Quesada, insists that “It’s a fantastic mystery that captures the viewers attention.”

Here’s a little guide I created for you to uncover the murderer like a true detective:

Five Steps to Uncovering the Murderer

1. Start off by thinking that the creepy foreign guy is at fault.

2. Question the clearly unbalanced youth.

3. Place the blame on the person you trust most.

4. Question yourself, even though you know you did nothing wrong.

5.

Find the murderer and curse yourself for not realizing what was right in front of you the whole time!

Come see the high school’s performance of The Mousetrap to put your true detective skills to work on November 14th and 15th at 7:30pm.
